The Science
Believe it or not, FMAHealth have found one study examining whether High Voltage and other detox shampoos removed alcohol drug metabolites from the hair[i]. 4 Shampoos were tested:

- ‘Stinger Detox Folli-Kleen’ (shampoo 2),
- ‘High Voltage Detox Folli-Cleanse Shampoo’ (shampoo 3) and
- ‘Ultra Kleen Ultra Cleanse Hair Cleansing Shampoo and Conditioner’ (shampoo 4)
They tested the hair samples which were from regular drinkers for metabolites of alcohol. Shampoos 2 and 4 showed a decrease equal to deionized water, which is also contained in High Voltage Folli-cleanse. Shampoo one showed a decrease better than distilled water. And High Voltage Detox Folli-Cleanse actually showed a decrease in alcohol metabolite ethyl glucuronide of up to 73 %. This is the only one that decreased the drug metabolite enough to thwart the drug test. Therefore, High Voltage Detox shampoo has bona fide science backing it up.

Conclusion: Does High Voltage Folli-Cleanse Detox Shampoo really work?
We give this product a 3 out of 5, B. The science says this product has potential as it did remove alcohol residues from the hair and it did so better than 3 other detox products including Stinger’s Folli-Kleen. In fact, out of the detox shampoos tested, it worked the best. However, in the product review section of Amazon, most of the comments were not impressive. This leads to a re-examination of the scientific evidence. In truth, they basically washed the hair samples in the shampoo for 10 hours. Therefore, if you want this stuff to work, you probably have to buy several bottles and use it as many times as you can leading up to the test. That can get expensive. Alternatively, you can use it with the Macujo Method and Jerry G Method. The upside is that this is probably still one of the better detox shampoos if not the best. It is the only one we know of that has beaten a drug test used all by itself under scientific observation. Good luck!
